Mandate [MICROBIOLOGY]
The research activities of the Microbiology Division center on communicable diseases. The division carries out broad spectrum investigation of communicable diseases with respect to the study of bacteriology, virology, mycology of reported diseases and the involvement of Immune System in these areas. The division also investigates other disease such as Tuberculosis, HIV, Childhood disease (including measles, tetanus and Polio); Diarrhea disease, Helicobacter pylori, Candidasis and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
The six specialized units in the division are Tuberculosis Unit, Diarrhea Unit, Virology Unit, Immunology Unit, Sexually Transmitted Diseases Unit, and General Microbiology/Mycology Unit.
